Breast
Augmentation - What Are Your Options
In Beautifying Your Breasts?
Breast augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic surgical procedures carried out which enhances the size and the shape of a woman's
breasts. There are a great many women who have hardly any breasts at all, and for many of these their 'tom-boyish' shape is a source of
embarrassment resulting in low self esteem, lack of confidence and even depression. Having to buy bras would be a humiliating experience as
even the smallest sizes would be too big, and going without bras makes the situation even worse. This of course is the worse case scenario, and
most women who undergo breast augmentation do so to give fullness and a better shape to their breasts, or to increase just a cup size.
Before a woman makes the decision to go ahead with breast augmentation she needs to do her homework. Firstly she needs to become familiar
with the operation itself, the type of implants that are used, where the incisions are, recovery times etc. This groundwork will help immensely when
it comes time to sit down with the cosmetic or plastic surgeon who is going to perform her breast augmentation. There is a great deal of
information available on the web for breast augmentation, even down to before and after photo sessions. Once a woman is satisfied that she has
an understanding of the surgical procedure then it is time to locate a qualified cosmetic surgeon. This is where it can get really confusing,
because there are so many who list breast augmentation as their specialty, but checking credentials and experience should be the very least that
is done.
Breast augmentation is generally achieved by using either saline or silicone implants. Choosing the right shape as well as size is another
decision which has to be made, but fortunately this is one where you will be given lots of help and advice. This is where your doctor's experience
in breast augmentation comes into play. You may have some idea as to how big you would like your new breasts to be, but your doctor will be
able to suggest which size would best suit your body shape, height and size. All of these issues should be covered at your first consultation, and if
you are not 100% happy with the outcome, then find another doctor and get another opinion. Breast augmentation has a very high success rate
and most women are happy with the outcome, but expectations must be realistic, and occasionally there are problems.
The easiest way for a woman to undertake breast augmentation is if she has friends that she can talk to who can share their experiences. If they
have had a good experience they will be able to recommend their doctor and this takes some of the guesswork out of the whole procedure. The
more information that is gained about breast augmentation the better the choices made will be. Saline implants for example, are now the most
frequently used implants for cosmetic breast augmentation. Occasionally there will be problems with them rupturing which means they will need to
be removed or replaced but at this stage they are the best option that women have.
It is important for women to know that their breast augmentation does not last forever. Ten years is about the average time before they will need
to be replaced. Of course this is just an average and many women find that their breast augmentation lasts a great deal longer than this.
